History
The history of our house
Hubert Widauer originally from St. Johann in Tyrol and his wife Margarete from Maurach am Achensee built a 2-storey house in 1958/1959, where they and the Oberlechner couple lived. After a short time, the house was bought by Ursula Klöcker, a resident of Zell am See. In 1963, this house was converted into an inn and named "Vier Jahreszeiten".
In 1968, it came up for auction, and the inn was bought by Michael Wegscheider, my father. I, his then 20 yrs. old son Hermann Wegscheider, took over management of the inn with my mother in December 1969. In 1970 I met my wife Herta and we married in 1975.
On June 25, 1976, our son Michael was born - our heir had arrived!
In autumn of the same year, we built a dining hall with 200 seats, a reception area, toilet facility, and storage rooms. The kitchen, which was located in the cellar, was enlarged and another dumbwaiter added.
On January 30, 1979 our daughter Evelyne was born and our family was complete. In the same year, we acquired the old, neighboring farmhouse known as the "Moser Ranch".
In the short time from September 13 to December 20, 1983, all rooms in our inn "Vier Jahreszeiten" were newly renovated and expanded and equipped with modern amenities including shower, WC, telephone, radio, and balcony. In addition, a third floor was added. The hotel "Vier Jahreszeiten" was born!
In the spring of 1986, the hotel was expanded to 10 rooms. We now had a capacity of 80 beds.
In 1989 from March to July, the front half of our "Moser Ranch" was torn down and newly rebuilt. This created 12 rooms, the "beer lounge" on the first floor, and the hair salon "Helga".
At the end of October 1992, in just 6 weeks of construction, we added a 4th floor and 11 additional rooms.
To fulfill the wishes of our guests and to meet the standards of the time, we made renovations yet again. From 1996 to 1997, we expanded the hotel with an underground garage, another dining room, the pool, the sauna facility, the beauty oasis, and 6 additional rooms. We were now the owners of the 4-star "Wellnesshotel Vier Jahreszeiten“.
After the winter season 2000, we focused on the rear part of our "Moser Ranch". For our wellness guests, there was an urgent need to create a walkway between the houses. With the expansion of the 2nd part of our "ranch", we succeeded in developing the underground tunnel, where the seminar and fitness room are also located. We created an additional 12 rooms and named our ranch "Residenz Vier Jahreszeiten".
We were lucky in that we were able to gradually acquire land in our neighborhood. So, with the help of the community, we were able to move the street in front of our hotel and to build a small garden and parking lot.
In 2002 our son Michael, who had spent 10 years improving his cooking skills in the most renowned houses abroad, came home. And again new plans were made. Our house bar, the reception area with desk, the toilet facilities, and the children's play room were built-on.
In 2004 - our modern kitchen was moved to the first floor, the old kitchen was used for a wine cellar, and cold storage facilities and a buffet room were created. Our gourmet restaurant, the "Michl Stub'n", was opened in Christmas 2004.
