Hiking at
lake Achensee

Right outside Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten is a legendary paradise for hiking enthusiasts and mountain climbers. What makes this paradise unique is the splendid scenery of the Achensee and surrounding mountains as well as the natural border between the Rofan and Karwendel mountains.

Unlimited
freedom

Hiking in the middle of two major mountain chains. On the Achensee, 500 km of idyllic hiking paths of all difficulty levels will whisk you away to another world away from the hustle and bustle. Directly near your accommodations, you can enjoy leisurely, family-friendly hikes along the crystal-clear lake, in the romantic side valleys, to staffed alpine huts, or challenging tours in the mountains.

The Rofan

East of the Achensee, the Rofan mountains rise up with their lush alpine meadows, green forests, and rugged rock walls. If you would like to make the trip up the mountain a bit easier, you can take the Rofan cable car directly from your vacation town of Maurach up to an elevation of 1,840 m and the starting point of wonderful hikes with breathtaking views of Tyrol's fascinating mountains.

The Karwendel

On the western bank of the Achensee, a natural, rugged mountain landscape of limestone rises up - the spectacular Karwendel mountains. The Naturpark Karwendel is considered the largest connected nature reserve in the Eastern Alps and stands out with its colorful variety of species and enthralling nature panorama. When you hike through this unique haven, you might even encounter chamois, ibexes, marmots, golden eagles, and other rare animal Alpine animals.

The Karwendel lift in Pertisau includes the area around the Zwölferkopf with a grandiose view of the Inntal, the Wilder Kaiser, the Alpine divide, and on clear days even Austria's highest mountain, the Großglockner.
